This is a maternity ward at Concession District Hospital. It has 18 beds, but at any given time there are around 50 women in there. This ward is used to accommodate antenatal, postnatal, and C-section mothers, and also women in labour, and others with children who have high temperatures. There are only three midwives on duty at night, and one nurse aide, yet people are expected to receive standard care. C-section mothers have to buy their own sundries for the procedure, and those who tear during delivery must buy suture material.

N Richards cashier steals US$35 250 Police in Rusape are looking for a cashier from N Richards Wholesalers, Tawanda Manzvinde (34), who is accused of stealing US$35,250 during the Easter holiday. The theft has revealed serious weaknesses in both the company’s internal checks and the security procedures used by an outside security company. Manzvinde is now on the run and is believed to have left the country. The CID has increased its efforts to find him and is asking the public for help. Police in Mutare arrested Brighton Kaisa (27) , Oliver Kaisa (28) and Garikai Saungwena (50) in connection with a case of murder which occurred at a house in Dangamvura on 06/05/25. The suspects allegedly tied the victim , Tarick Mamenomuno (23) with a cable on a mango tree, head down, before taking turns to assault him with a wire and an electric cable several times all over the body.
