Oxford, UK – June 2025 A Zimbabwean national was sentenced to 18 weeks in prison this month after attempting to steal from a Tesco supermarket in Oxford and threatening staff with a needle. The man, identified as Zywai Nyahoda, 35, was caught trying to exit the store with concealed goods before being confronted by store security. On 16 June 2025, the Tshwane Metro Police and SAPS arrested a Zimbabwean woman and her Nigerian husband for human trafficking and forcing women to make online porn0graphy. Police found the woman in Gezina, Pretoria North, and she led them to a house where four women aged 18 to 38, three South Africans and one Malawian, were being made to perform online s€x shows using large screens and cameras. The women said the Zimbabwean woman kept their ID documents and claimed to be their employer. She was arrested on the spot, and later her husband was also arrested at a different place. Both are being held at a police station and may face more charges as the investigation continues.

LIVERPOOL – UK based Zimbabwean gospel singer, model and pastor, Walter Chahwanda (33) currently in remand prison, has been charged with additional offences as part of an ongoing sexual offences investigation by Merseyside Police. Chahwanda who leads the Walter Chahwanda Ministries was initially charged with “rape; assault by penetration and sending photograph/film of genitals to cause alarm, distress or humiliation.” As reported previously by waltermagaya, Chahwanda of Plemonstall Court in Chester, was arrested on Thursday 13 March 2025 and before that, Thursday 27 February 2024, and charged with sexual offences including rape.
