A drunk man from Pumula North got the surprise of his life when his wife thrashed him after he called her a prostitute. The defeated man ran to the police to report the issue. The man, one Victor Mahlangu (30) was beaten by his wife Sharai Sibanda (29). A family friend who spoke to B-metro on condition of anonymity said Victor arrived home drunk and spewed derogatory verbal attacks on his wife. A driver and an armed guard delivering cash to Mukuru money transfer agency in Gokwe area allegedly snatched US$306 000 in cash on Wednesday and are now on the run, police report. National police spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi said the two — Desbro Kadzurunga (23) and Leon Kahoka (35), both from Gokwe town — dumped the special van belonging to their employer, Safeguard Security, their uniforms and a firearm near Gokwe Hotel before they vanished. INMATES in Harare prisons remain safe from Covid-19 positive cases despite 53 positive cases found among officers, prisons medical director has said. Zimbabwe Prisons and Correctional Service (ZPCS) medical director Dr Evidence Gaka said this on Monday at Chikurubi Maximum Prison during an awareness to discourage members of the public to visit inmates. He said 191 positive cases that includes inmates and prison officers had been recorded and more than 2000 people under went Covid-19 testing. Prison officers found positive are currently at 118 with 53 cases recorded among inmates.
