One of the thugs tried to stab her in the neck with a knife and she shielded herself using her hands thereby receiving those serious injuries. The robbers ran away after neighbours were alerted by the noise and they escaped with phones. What also worries the Priest is that Tendai Mahori had not received any help from 8am to 12.
There was no Police, there was no transport to take her to hospital until the community approached Father Makamure as he was passing by from a mass. The family also did not have a cent to get a lift to hospital. Another concern is that the gang could be criminals recently released from prison under the general Presidential Amnesty. The same gang made another robbery in the same area on Wednesday.
