LONDON, UK – Customs officers at Heathrow Airport arrested 42-year-old Michael Sibanda, a Zimbabwean national, after discovering a shipment of illegal wildlife products hidden in his luggage.
Authorities found endangered animal skins, ivory trinkets, and other prohibited items destined for the black market. Michael is believed to be part of a larger trafficking network exploiting endangered species from Africa.
Conservation groups have praised the interception and called for tougher penalties against wildlife traffickers. The case highlights ongoing challenges in protecting vulnerable species and combating illegal trade.
