FROM INBOX | The headmaster from Rujeko Primary School is exploiting parents by forcing extra lessons and charging unapproved fees. Learners are now attending school from Monday to Sunday, raising an important question: is this really for the children’s benefit, or for the school’s gain?
Despite reports being made to the DSI and PED, no action has been taken. Even more concerning, some pupils were stopped from writing weekend NAPH tests because their parents had not paid these fees.
This situation is unacceptable. Children need time to rest, not to be overloaded with school every day. This points to possible exploitation and even corruption, with disadvantaged families suffering the most.
Authorities must act urgently. This appears to violate Circular 1 of 2020 and Policy P.35 of 2018. Our children must be protected.
