The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has officially cautioned the public against a fraudulent recruitment notice currently making the rounds on social media. In a statement released to clarify the situation, the police force labeled the circulating information as false and misleading, urging citizens to
ignore any claims regarding new openings for police officers at this time. The police emphasized that they have not initiated a fresh recruitment drive and warned that such misinformation is often designed to exploit unsuspecting job seekers.
They noted that all legitimate recruitment processes are announced through their official communication channels, including mainstream media and verified social media handles, rather than through unofficial viral messages. Authorities have advised individuals seeking to join the force to remain patient and wait for formal
advertisements which will provide clear instructions on the application process. The ZRP also reiterated that they do not use third-party agents for recruitment and cautioned against paying any fees to individuals claiming to facilitate employment within the department. For those seeking further clarification or wishing to report suspicious activities, the ZRP has directed the public to contact the National Complaints Desk. Inquiries can be made via telephone at (024) 2703631 or through their dedicated WhatsApp line at 0712 800 197.
