$100K Risk! Mai TT Claps Back at Haters Over Her Nollywood Movie Lost In Ashes

Zimbabwean entertainer Mai TT (Felistus Murata) is making headlines again after revealing she has spent over USD $100,000 of her own money on her upcoming Nollywood movie Lost In Ashes, filmed in Lagos, Nigeria — fully aware she may never recoup the funds.

After her candid confession, some social media users criticized her decision, calling it “reckless” or “a waste of money.” Mai TT responded fiercely during a fiery Facebook Live:

“It’s my money, not yours! I worked for it, I saved it, and I decided to invest it in my dream. If you don’t like it, that’s your problem. I will never apologise for chasing my passion.”

She emphasized that her goal wasn’t profit, but experience, learning, and storytelling.

“I didn’t go to Nigeria to please anyone. I went to learn, to create, and to put Zimbabwe on the map. Whether I make a profit or a loss, the experience is priceless.”

Fans have erupted in support, flooding social media with hashtags like #ItsMyMoney, #MaiTTClapsBack, and #LostInAshes, praising her boldness and determination. Critics, however, continue to question the decision.

With the release of Lost In Ashes expected later this year, all eyes are on whether Mai TT’s $100K passion project will pay off — financially or otherwise.
