First, I want to sincerely thank you for all the good work you are doing for the people of Zimbabwe, especially in the Arts Industry. Your support is truly appreciated.

I would also like to share my own situation with you. I, Patience Musa — known as Amai Jilimba — started acting in 1985. I joined the Arts Industry simply because I love my talent. We used to produce our dramas and submit them to ZBC TV, and we always worked well as a team.

My last big project for ZBC TV was Mawoko Matema, a drama I personally sponsored. Unfortunately, I failed to finish it because I ran out of funds. That is when I decided to come to social media with the help of my young manager, who has been pushing my work, although sometimes it is difficult for us to reach the level we want.

Honourable Minister, my wish is this:

I have good scriptwriters and talented actors, and we produce powerful, educational stories. My request is that if possible, you become our sponsor, so we can restart our drama and movie projects and submit them to ZBC once again.

Please look at how countries like Nigeria, South Africa, and America have grown in the Arts Industry. Zimbabwe also has great talent, but what is holding us back is funding and budget for proper production.

Right now, I have nothing to submit to ZBC — not because I have stopped loving acting, but because I do not have a sponsor. The people I started acting with in the 90s — some have passed away, some are sick, some have grown old, and others left acting completely. But I continue to hold on to my gift until the day God calls me, because this is the talent He gave me.

Our country can grow in the film and drama industry if we get support. For us to produce a proper movie or drama, we need a budget that covers:

 • Locations

 • Transport

 • Food

 • Clothing/costumes for each character

 • A good quality camera

 • Lighting

 • A good editing machine

 • Props

My humble request, Honourable Minister, is that we may receive sponsorship so we can produce real, high-quality movie projects for our nation.

Thank you for taking your time to read my message. May God bless you.

Yours respectfully,

Patience Musa (Amai Jilimba)
