Chigananda George Guvamatanga Splashes Over R1 Million on Makhadzi & Mafikizolo — Pays 5× the Agreed Fee!

Zimbabwe’s Permanent Secretary for Finance and Economic Development, Mr George Guvamatanga, has once again made headlines — this time for his jaw-dropping generosity toward two of South Africa’s top musical acts, Makhadzi and Mafikizolo.

Guvamatanga reportedly paid the performers over 1 million rand, a figure that stunned fans and entertainment insiders alike. The senior government official, known for his lavish birthday celebrations, was so impressed by the duo’s electric performance that he rewarded them five times the agreed booking fee on the spot.

According to 2016 figures published by The Citizen (South Africa), booking Mafikizolo for an event cost approximately R300 000. If that rate remained similar, Guvamatanga’s payment represents a massive bonus — one that instantly went viral across social media platforms in both Zimbabwe and South Africa.

Clips from the celebration showed Guvamatanga singing and dancing along enthusiastically as Makhadzi delivered hit after hit, while Mafikizolo gave a polished, high-energy performance worthy of the mega-cheque they walked away with. The Finance boss has earned a reputation for turning private events into star-studded spectacles, and this latest display has cemented that image even further.
