Pakaipa | US$46,000 stolen in dramatic cash robbery – suspects used fake number plates
Kwekwe police are investigating a bold daylight robbery that happened in the city centre on June 4, 2025. Armed robbers stole US$46,000 from a parked car along E.D. Mnangagwa Road.
The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) said the robbers arrived in a silver Toyota Mark X with fake number plates – AGI 4348 – which actually belong to a blue Mazda Demio. This shows the suspects had planned the robbery carefully.
The gang broke the rear window of a parked Mazda CX-5 to get inside and grabbed a bag full of cash before escaping.
Police have confirmed that the search for the suspects is underway, and investigations are continuing.
