Daring armed robbers raided a Mukuru outlet in Bulawayo’s CBD, making off with US$78,141 and R501,820 in cash before fleeing through the back door.
The suspects also took a digital video recorder and a panic button, items believed to have been removed to destroy surveillance evidence and disable the alarm system.
Police spokesperson Commissioner Paul Nyathi confirmed the incident, saying:
“The total money stolen is US$78,141 and R501,820.”
