This man, identified as Willard Chimunhu, was arrested by ZRP Norton for impersonating a Harare City Metro Police officer. He would clamp vehicles and then demanded bribes in exchange for removing the clamps.
At the time of his arrest, he was found in possession of three different fake identity cards issued by the Harare Metropolitan Police, the Ministry of Defence and War Veterans, and Harare Traffic Law Enforcement. He used these credentials to intimidate victims into paying. His luck finally ran out.
Incidents of this nature appear to be on the rise in Harare, raising growing concern among residents.
