The Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission (ZACC) has cleared Wicknell Chivayo, stating that witnesses failed to provide any evidence showing he had a contract with the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC). This decision follows a lengthy investigation into allegations that Chivayo received a US$100 million tender to supply election materials to ZEC for the 2023 elections.
!There is strong evidence that ZEC entered into a contract with RenForm CC to supply election materials for the 2023 elections. Wicknell Chivayo was even photographed with Moses Mpofu at the RenForm printing facility. The financial intelligence report from South Africa also shows that RenForm sent millions of dollars to Chivayo’s account.
Despite all this, ZACC cleared Chivayo. They said Mike Chimombe and Moses Mpofu failed to prove that he had a contract with ZEC. We all know Chivayo was the main person behind the US$100 million tender.
So the big question is: Is ZACC saying the South Africa Financial Intelligence Centre report is false and cannot be used as evidence, even though it shows a clear paper trail of suspicious transactions between RenForm CC and Chivayo?
