.The High Court of Zimbabwe, sitting in Mutare, has sentenced two men to life imprisonment for the murder of a Zimbabwe Republic Police Support Unit member.

 

The Conviction 

 

 

 

Sanele Simbarashe Makono (23) of Hatcliffe Extension, Harare, and Sterio Joao Mahachi (55) of Machipanda, Mozambique, were convicted of murdering Constable Travor Mundida.

 

Details of the Crime 

 

The incident occurred on September 10, 2024, along the Mutare-Harare railway line opposite Yeovil Location in Mutare.

 

According to the National Prosecuting Authority of Zimbabwe (NPAZ), the two offenders, along with an accomplice who remains at large, launched a vicious attack on the deceased. The victim was stabbed multiple times with unknown weapons, sustaining six stab wounds to the back, rib cage, buttock, and hip.

 

 

 

Following the assault, the attackers robbed the officer of his wallet, shoes, and a Samsung cellphone. The stolen phone was later sold in Mozambique. Mundida's body was subsequently discovered lying face down at the scene. - Zimbo LIVE HarareRest in peace Travor Mundida my guy.
