This comes after Team Pachedu, a group of Zimbabweans who are active on Twitter, raised the issue yesterday. They said: Dear @PoliceZimbabwe. In 2014, you arrested Robert Boyiboyi for criminal nuisance after sharing a photo wearing a police uniform. Now, Passion Java has committed the same crime. President Emmerson Mnangagwa has set March 26 as the date for parliamentary by-elections to fill seats that were left vacant through deaths and the recalling of legislators by mainly the opposition Movement for Democratic Change led by Douglas Mwonzora. Mnangagwa Extends Lockdown Fro Two Moore Weeks President Emmerson Mnangagwa today extended the Level Two national lockdown by another two weeks with immediate effect and postponed the reopening of schools until further notice. Those writing examinations will, however, resume on Monday as scheduled. There have been 10 384 new cases and 142 deaths over the past week with the last three days being intense. Zimbabwe has witnessed its worst coronavirus infections on record this month but so far only 260 people have died which is much lower than 1 743 who died in July after 58 996 people were infected, or 887 in August when 15 913 got infected and 854 in January which had 19 521 infections. Twenty-seven people died yesterday and 2 107 were infected but 3 953 recovered with active cases dropping to 30 772. Mashonaland East and Mashonaland West are now the hotspots with 6 310 and 5 782 cases, respectively. Harare is down to 2 970 cases after 843 people recovered yesterday while in Bulawayo 750 people recovered bringing the number of cases down to 2 782. The two remaining suspects in the gang of seven that recently raided a Chadcombe house belonging to a retired CID Homicide detective Mr Joseph Nemaisa, after allegedly targeting the wrong house, are now believed to have fled to Mozambique. The two on the police most wanted list for being part of the gang are Washington Hamandishe and Tatenda Mumbire. Recently, three other gang members were shot dead by Mr Nemaisa at his Chadcombe home and two gang members have been arrested, along with an employee of the householder a few doors away who was believed to have been the target. Dr Francis Ndowa said the Neisseria gonorrhoeae, also known as gonococcus, the bacteria that causes Gonorrhea, has developed resistance to antibiotics such as Penicillin, Tetracilicin, and Quinolones that have been used to treat Gonorrhea in the country. A top S.e.xually Transmitted Infection (STI) infections expert and venereologist has flagged a gonorrhoea variant that has developed resistance to available treatment options in Zimbabwe.
