Corruption Is Your Biggest Sanction United States Tells Zimbabwe Government

'Blaming sanctions is a convenient scapegoat to distract the public from the real reasons behind Zimbabwe’s economic challenges. As Zimbabwe’s government held choreographed events across the country on Monday, putting on a show for the visiting United Nations Special Rapporteur on sanctions, the United States and the European Union repelled claims there were any sanctions on the country. Thousands of people wearing Zanu PF gear and carrying placards denouncing “sanctions” marched in cities and towns around Zimbabwe, and President Emmerson Mnangagwa – in apparent defiance of his own Covid-19 regulations – gathered thousands of people in Mwenezi to mark “Anti Sanctions Day”. “These sanctions are illegal and hurt the most vul

Mashura Prophet Freddy Makes Woman Apazhe Manyoka On Stage During Healing Service

It seems like new-age self-proclaimed prophets across the world, but in Africa in particular, are always coming up with novel ways to “cure” and “heal” the afflicted as they minister to their congregants.   The prophets seem to be in a constant battle to do the most outrageous things so that they can attract huge numbers to their churches and Zimbabwe clergyman, Prophet T Freddy is the latest to join the trend. The founder of the Goodness and Mercy Ministries is trending after he made a woman poop on stage during a healing service. During the rather undignified healing process, the Prophet can be heard shouting “come out, come out.” After the woman has the bowel movement on stage, congregants can be seen clapping sheepishly, while Prop

Zimbabwe Will Have Zero Power Cuts In January Says ZESA Chairperson Sydney Gata

Zimbabwe Electricity Supply Authority (ZESA) board chairperson Sydney Gata has said the country should expect zero load-shedding next January next year as the power utility is implementing some measures to ensure enough supply in the country. ZESA generates just over 1 400MW from its five power plants against a demand of above 1 700MW. Power generation is affected by aging power plants with the Hwange Power Station which was commissioned in 1983 having outlived its lifespan. Other power generation plants include Bulawayo thermal, Munyati thermal, Harare thermal, and Kariba hydroelectric. The country covers the shortfall through load shedding and imports. Gata made the promise while speaking to the media during a media tour organised by the Zimbabwe National Editors' For
